Kendrick Lamar Partners ‘TDE’ Label-Mates To Create The ‘Black Panther’ Soundtrack Available Feb. 9

Kendrick Lamar has been on fire in the industry for quite some time now. And, alongside amassing a large number of rap-category awards at the Grammys, the artist has partnered with Marvel and Walt Disney, to create the Black Panther Soundtrack, which debuts two weeks from now. The artist released a sneak-peek of the album’s tracklist as well as the album art, this afternoon, via Twitter. This would be a major move for any artist, but Kendrick—as he usually doeshas made it extra-special; the artist produced and curated the entire 14-track album.

This type of musical power-move is not foreign to the “Damn” artist, who appears on five of the soundtrack’s songs. He is collaboratively joined throughout the soundtrack by SZA, Jay Rock, Future, James Blake, Travis Scott, The Weekend—yes, the project is literally star-studded. Kendric also had the support of his Top Dawg Entertainment label-mates on this album; he is joined by Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Vince Staples, Yugen BlackRock, Zacori, and Babes Wodumo.

Since Kendrick Lamar is helming the creative aspect, we know this project is going to be awesome; the artist has been pretty consistent in that respect. The rapper has released three consecutive Billboard 200, chart-toppers including To Pimp A Butterfly (2015); Untititled Unmastered (2016); and, of course, DAMN (2017). This huge project comes right before the artist’s Championship Tour, which he and his Top Dawg cohorts will embark on in summer ’18. If his past work is any indication, we will be rocking to the Black Panthers soundtrack for quite a while. Check out the track-list below.
