How cool would it be to live a few hours in the shoes of your favorite rapper; hanging out with the people they kick it with, eating the food they eat? Fantasize no longer, because this summer the rap game veteran E-40 lets you do exactly that, well sort of.
This week the Bay Area rapper announced a late summer tour across the United States titled The Gift of Gab Tour 2018 with support from Nef the Pharoah and OMB Peezy. Yet what makes this tour so buzzworthy, besides the chance to witness the man who helped teach the world how to snap yo fingers live, is a special “Meet and Eat,” which will be taking place before the concert.
The “Meet and Eat,” is a unique experience where fans are invited to hang out with E-40 before the show and munch down on some dope ass food provided by Compton’s favorite chefs Malachi “Chef Spank,” and Roberto “Sous Chef News,” and their The Trap Kitchen.
After years spent floating the underground, E-40 caught the mainstream dancefloor’s attention back in 2006 when he dropped the Lil Jon produced single “Tell Me When to Go.” He cemented his status as a master in the game with smash singles “Snap Yo Fingers,” “U And Dat,” featuring T. Pain and Kandi Girl, and 2014’s slow burn of a single “Choices (Yup),”.
Nobody expects members of the Bloods and Crips to put their differences aside, let alone become best friends and start a successful business venture together, but that’s exactly what happened when Malachi “Chef Spank,” and Roberto “Sous Chef News,” decided to leave the streets and focus on making legit money. And they have certainly experienced the fruits from the labor by making appearances on television shows such as The Martha & Snoop Show, The Chew, The Breakfast Club and Comedy Central’s Hood Adjacent. Their enterprise, Trap Kitchen, has grown into a catering phenomenon with their mission to feed the world.
