Rap Trio ‘Migos’ Tied The Beatles For “Most Simultaneous Hot 100 Hits Among Groups”

Globally-acclaimed rap trio, Migos, just obliterated an amazing musical record. The trio released their long-awaited studio album, less than a month ago. And now, just a few weeks later, the trio has 14 songs on the ‘Hot 100’ Billboard charts. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the trio’s album, “Culture 2” debuted atop the ‘Billboard 200‘ charts.

And herein history is made: they are the first to move the Beatles out of this spot—a spot they have been in for nearly 60 years. This is Billboard Chart History; as well as, a day of celebration for urban music fans everywhere.

Let us add a bit of clarity to this situation: beyond the Beatles, and now Migos, NO OTHER duo, group, or multi-member collective has charted more than 9 songs on the ‘Hot 100‘ chart at once—Migos now has 14. The Beatles had held this record since April, 11th 1964. And here we stand, 54 years and many hits later, It now belongs to Hip-Hop.

Of the 14 song entries that Migos currently holds on the ‘Hot 100′ charts, 13 are from the “Culture 2” album. The 14th is “I Get The Bag”—a project with Gucci Mane.
