The Love & Hip-Hop: New York heroine raps over “Roll in Peace.”
This weekend the New York rap heiress, Remy Ma surprised her followers with an impromptu freestyle over Kodak Black’s “Roll In Peace,” featuring XXXTentacion. The post, which garnered over a million views, shows the turquoise haired rapper donning Melanin Magic and Daniels Leather apparel.
In the all-too-brief fifty second video, Remy spits venom at some unknown assailant with lines like “She envy me / She wanna be Remy / And she ain’t even Hennessy / You ain’t gonna come for me / Bitch, you ain’t gonna send for me / I got all these friend requests from back-up pages of my enemies.” The comments section overflowed with her followers wondering who was exactly the mysterious “she,” Remy rapped against. After a tumultuous 2017 which witnessed her igniting beef with not only Nicki Minaj, but also Azealia Banks, , there’s no telling who she has her sights set on with this fierce snippet.
Whomever it might be, ultimately, doesn’t matter because it’s only a side-note, though what matters is the track’s quality, and in this case Remy Ma delivers fire. Her flow and attitude perfectly compliments the original song’s outstanding production. Hopefully the track appears on 7 Winters & 6 Summers, her sophomore album, which she promised this year.
