Review: Fabolous – Summertime Shootout 3

Umg Records

Back with another sequel to his “Summertime Shootout” series the Brooklyn MC Fabulous has blessed his fans with some heat. Starting the series back in 2015, Fab has released the third installment of the series but something was different this time. It’s a mixtape so you usually have to go to the ghetto world of Soundcloud to listen. But this time you can download the tape on Apple Music and Tidal, guess Fab was patient with getting all the samples cleared this time.
Blessing his fans with a 16 track project featuring all your favorites A Boogie, Tory Lanez, Roddy Ricch, Meek Mill, Lil Durk, Pnb Rock, Chris Brown, Jeremiah, Teyana Taylor, and many more.

Throughout the album you hear Fabulous kicks game, about bossing up, staying focus on your goal, leaving these hoes alone, and just staying true to yourself so take notes. Fabulous sounds like an elder statesman on this project but that’s what makes it so good. Not many rappers can age the way Fabulous has, I think he can still go bar to bar with most rappers in the game to date. Fab is a good rapper but his signature is definitely the rnb records where he can talk in that low tone and just kick game with a smooth hook.

There are bangers like that throughout the album like “Season Changes”, “Time”, “Us vs. The World”, and “My Mind” are perfect for the current season. Fab’s super-fans will be very satisfied with tracks like “Cold Summer”, “Bombs”, and “Gone for the Summer” which give you that punchline, gritty Fab we’ve grown with since the early 2000’s.

You can stream this project on all media platforms.
