Smino drops new single, “KLINK”

The single will be found on his upcoming album, NØIR.

St. Louis-born rapper Smino is back with “KLINK” – the first single off his upcoming album, NØIR. Based in Chicago, Smino has collaborated with emerging artists like Noname and Saba, on hits like “Shadow Man” and “Ace.” He released his debut album, blkswn, on March 14, 2017.

This new track is forceful and repetitive. Smino’s sound is already leagues away from mainstream Hip Hop, but with this release he expands that even further. The upbeat strumming guitar is not something usually heard in a rap song, but it fits so well into the style of Smino. The chorus shows of his vocal range as he hits the high notes, imitating the clinking of empty bottles. “KLINK” was produced by Monte Booker, the producer of blkswn.

NØIR is expected to release on November 8th.
