Album Review: Derrick Milano -1/2 Man 1/2 Wolf

There are many songwriters and producers that are great at working magic behind the scenes. Some try and make the transition into being an artist and it at times comes with mixed results. Multi-talented artist and songwriter Derrick Milano is giving a bit of mixed feeling with his latest release “1/2 Man 1/2 Wolf”, produced by Danny Wolf. I found the project from track 1-6 to be a bit repetitive. The 12-minute body of work gives you get different flows, beats, and bars that will entice you to want more. The only problem with the project is that Milano doesn’t have his voice yet. That could be because he hasn’t been in his artist bag in years, but if you close your eyes he sounds very Joyner Lucas ish. The project is solid especially when you take into account the work he has put in but for overall I’d say this album is a 6/10.

Derrick Milano is an artist first but also found a pocket in being a producer. This lane switch led to him working with stars like Nicki Minaj, Meg Thee Stallion, Ty Dolla Sign, Justin Beiber, Tory Lanez, Coi Leray, and recently with Kiana Lede on her latest project Kiki. Milano has a bright future ahead no matter which lane he stays in. You can stream the project on all media platforms.
