Album Review: Jhene Aiko – Chilombo

Our favorite toxic, good karma, relaxing R&B fairy is back to giving us good vibes and exposing our toxic mindset all at once. Our good charka spiritual singer Jhene Aiko has blessed us with a new project after she took a 3-year hiatus from dropping projects. But she has returned with a 20 track album titled Chilombo, which is her last name.

On this 20 track project lead by singles H.O.E(Happiness over everything), None of Your Concern and Triggered. Jhene hit with the singles she selected as they gave us the different energies of the album. This album also includes many features coming from Big Sean, H.E.R, Future, Miguel, John Legend, Ab-Soul, Nas, and Ty Dolla Sign. This album is not only about having good energy and being at peace with oneself but also about women empowerment and encouraging women to leave situations that don’t benefit them and are toxic. Jhene expresses a lot of her other ideals on tracks like Speak, Lighting & Thunder, B.S, Party for Me and many more. This album is one big vibe fulled with bangers, captions, and tracks for any mood.

Jhene is the calming yet lowkey hood girl that R&B needs. Jhene is the pretty girl with a lot of love to give, but also the girl who got the whole hood on go for her if she gives that greenlight. Jhene album will have everybody nice, calm, and on cloud 9 while we get past this crisis. You can stream Chilombo on all music platforms.

What a better way to celebrate Women’s History Month than with the strong and empowering R&B artist Kehlani.
