Big Sean Talks about new album, depression, features, life struggles, and Detroit with Hot97

Big Sean has much to celebrate as he finally made his return not only to the music scene but back on billboards. With his latest project Detroit 2 going, #1 making that his third consecutive number one album. Another add bounce to getting a new project from artists is getting the media tour that they go on, and Big Sean has a lot of talking to do.

One of the interviews he did was with the radio station Hot97 with Ebro and co. During this interview, Big Sean talks about how he received some of his features like Stevie Wonder, Dave Chapelle, and Erykah Badu, and Dom Kennedy. Big Sean also goes into detail about his absence from music, ” I meditate every day and this helps me return to my passion, when you do something for over ten years, you get to a point when it gets dole to you and not as exciting and, you have to find that fire to reignite it.”

Big Sean also gets emotional talking about the day he received the news of Nipsey Hussle passing. “I remember I got the news he got shot and I was doing charity work in Detroit. I was like ok, he gonna be aight then I kept getting all these calls as it kept getting worse and worse, then somebody hit me and said he got shot in the head. I was like Fuck and, I remember crying and still thinking he was gonna pull through. I remember getting to the studio with Hitboy and Dom Kennedy and them telling me I need to finish the record in his honor. I didn’t want to do it, but his family gave me there blessing and, all of his people told me I need to do it, So that’s how the record got finished.
