People continue to feel unrest after the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers. The incident has caused mass outrage across not only the US, but also the world. Protests against the injustice have spread as far as Brazil, the UK, and Auckland. Protests in the US, specifically, have become violent over the last few days. Many protesters on the ground have documented the violence not being a response from Black Lives Matter but from other organizations looking to create a negative narrative around blacks.
In response to the violent outbreaks, Donald Trump threatens to deploy active US military troops to cities. It is terrifying to think that there could be a war in this country between our own military and citizens because black people want their lives to be valued.
On social media, there has been a movement of solidarity with many participating in #BlackoutTuesday today.
